Cellier du Rhone 2006

A harmless light soft red from Aldi. Grenache and Syrah. Better with food than alone. Good value. #wine

Another fantastic Sauv from Marlborough in NZ. More melon and less gooseberry than others. Drop the oak?

Saintsbury Garnet Carneros Pinot Noir 2006

*****

This is a really delicious red wine from California. Light red in colour, its raspberry/strawberry flavours really stand out.

Villa Maria Cabernet Sauvignon Merlot 2006

*****

Carta Vieja, Organic Pinot Noir 2004, Aconcagua Valley, Chile

*****

This one's all about the Cherry Coke. In fact, it's the most cherry-like wine I've ever had. There's also a bit of smokiness but not much else. It's very very very smooth, fruity with a long finish,...

Katnook Estate Red Wine Coonawarra Austrialian Shiraz 2004

*****

I was delighted to be given a gift of this wine. The Katnook Estate is from the interesting region of Coonawarra which produces some really decent Australian red wines.

Cordillera Red Wine, Miguel Torres, Chile, 2004

*****

Made primarily from old Carinena vines, this very drinkable red wine from Chile ticks a lot of boxes. 63% Carinena, 21% Merlot & the 16% Shiraz combination works well to provide a wine which is intensely ruby in colour yet complex with a lengthy
